You did not specifiy a model or engine size so I will try and give you the generic method. By the battery there should be a square box with a cover. remove the cover and you will see numbered holes for a scan tool to connect. There is a small extension to the square box containing two empty sockets a push button and an LED. With the ignition key in the on position but the engine not running push the button for two to four seconds. The led should start to blink out a code. Push the button again to advance to the next code. Keep pushing the button until the trouble code repeats. To clear code hold down the push button for over 4 seconds.
mercedes w211 fault code p202c 120 how to repair it?
Code 128 whats is that for. Would it be egr
You need a scan tool.
Since it is OBD11 it requires a scanner to retrieve the codes. Most parts stores will read then for free. you can use a car scanner to clear it out.
One of the sensors detected a fault that occurred at least 2x, but there are about 100 different ones. you need to retrieve codes from car's comp with a code reader
The check engine light can be triggered by any detected fault that would affect the emissions output of your car. Anything from a loose gas cap to a major engine fault could be a possible cause for the light. To find out, you need to retrieve the codes recorded by your car's onboard engine management computer. These codes tell a tech what system fault was seen, but not necessarily what caused the faullt. See the side links for more information.
you need to have the check engine/service engine soon fault codes read to determine what the fault is.
Turn key on- off-on-off-on and count the long flash and the short flash. Looong-short-short = 12
You need an OBDII scanning tool to retrieve and read the fault codes. If the check engine light is illuminated, you can take the vehicle to AutoZone or similar auto parts store and get a free scan. If you want to buy your own scan tool, they cost about $70 and up.
you can't use the autozone OBD tool unless its a 1996 or later. I was told to find a dealer. EDIT.....Not true....you can pull the codes off of that vehicle by yourself using a paperclip & and counting the number of flashes that your "Check Engine" light gives off. Simply search any "Ford Truck", "Ford" or "Ford Engine" forums to get a list of the fault codes that correspond to the number of flashes that you count while performing this.
P202C-004 = CAN BUS signal from EIS controller,CAN BUS signal error
Because there's an intermittent issue which needs to be addressed. You need to have the DTCs (fault codes) read to find out which codes you have, what your active codes are, what your inactive codes are, and how many counts of each fault you have.
