Unhook your negative battery cable, turn your light switch on, then turn it off and reconnect the battery. That should reset the computer.

Follow the positive cable from the battery, it will lead right to the starter.
The electrode with the + mark, red wire. Black is negative.
Begin by removing the positive cable from your battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new Ford starter.

Disconnect the old ones and replace them with new ones. Start at the battery and trace the wires to their terminal point. There'll be one going from the alternator to the battery positive, one going from the battery positive to the power distribution center, and one going from battery negative to ground (either chassis or frame). They're held in with simple fasteners. There might also being one going from the engine block to the ground (usually, to the frame). If there isn't, it's not a bad idea to add one.

Unhook your negative battery cable for about an hour. When you hook it back up, the computer should reset itself. Make sure your key is in the ignition. If not, there is a resetting sequence in your owner's manual that tells you how to mate the key to the ignition. Follow the instructions PRECISELY! You'll need an analog watch for timing the procedure, as it deals with seconds.
