Cut open the remote with xacto knife , unsolder and replace the battery.
I had the same problem... I had to replace the battery in my remote at the dealer... hope this helps

im guessing that your talking about the alarm/keyless remote. You will find that you have to get closer and closer to the car to be able to unlock it. You should replace the battery when you have to be within about 10ft from the car.

I was informed by a BMW dealer there isn't a battery to replace and you have to order a new remote and then have it programmed by the dealer.
Split the remote open at the key fob loop.
Slide down to open the lower panel and gently pull it out. It is secured in a clip. There you can replace the battery.
Pretty simple, open the remote...most likely just snaps apart, replace with same part number battery
