What is the replacement PTO clutch for a Cub Cadet 2140 Onan
It is at the front of the motor off the crankshaft!!
Your PTO is not releasing the clutch. Pull the PTO and thoroughly inspect it. It may be that the bearing is seized.
Have the owner's manual handy. Take the single bolt out, and the clutch should come off fairly easily. Do not force it too much. The clutch and pulleys will come off in one piece.
pto switch bad
The 185 had a live PTO in that the tractor's movement could be stopped with the PTO remaining engaged through the powerdirector clutch (this was the tractor's 2 speed, shift on the go, set up). However, if you pushed the foot clutch in, the PTO would lose power along with the forward motion of the tractor stopping. Also, the 185 was available with a hydraulically engaged PTO clutch, which would allow the PTO to be engaged while the tractor is moving, where the mechanically engaged PTO required the foot clutch be depressed, the tractor be brought to a stop, then the PTO engaged and the foot clutch reengaged. It was "live" per definition, but not "independent."
pto switch energizes a vacuum solenoid which puts pressure on the pto belts
There's several different manufacturers of PTO systems out there. In simple terms, you engage the clutch, engage the PTO, release the clutch, then use the corresponding lever to raise or lower the dump body.
remove deck...remove pto clutch and both idler pulleys and u should be able to put on
YES
This is most likely a blade clutch problem. Many times they short and have to be replaced.
Your mower has an electric PTO clutch that is worn out. It clutch stops working when it gets hot. Replace the PTO clutch and you should be fine. Expect to pay about $150 for the part.
