Typical Programming Instructions
Notes:

• Just remember that you must also re-program your currently working remotes at this time also as if they are new since prior remotes are erased.
• Max of 4 transmitters can be programmed.

Procedure:

• Keep the driver's door open.
• Electronically unlock the doors (Switch on door or working transmitter).
• 1996-1999: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN/ON 5times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
• 2000-2006: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN/ON 8times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
• Within 20 seconds, press any button on an transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
• NOTE: If the door locks do not respond for any transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again.
• To exit the programming mode:
• • Turn ignition to the OFF position.
  • Let the 20 seconds expire.
    
  • The maximum number of transmitters have been programmed.

Changing the Battery

Notes:

• Replacement of the battery will not cause the remote to have to be reprogrammed.
• Most of these remotes use a 2032 battery - check the Owners Manual
  

To replace the battery:

• Twist a thin coin between the two halves of the remote entry transmitter near the key ring.
• • DO NOT TAKE THE RUBBER COVER AND CIRCUIT BOARD OFF THE FRONT HOUSING OF THE REMOTE ENTRY TRANSMITTER.
  • Do not wipe off any grease on the battery terminals on the back surface of the circuit board.
• Note which side of the battery is UP and remove the old battery.
  
• Insert the new battery. Refer to the diagram inside the remote entry transmitter for the correct orientation of the battery.
  
• • Press the battery down to ensure that the battery is fully seated
    
• Snap the two halves back together.

Open the key Ring and slide it off the Fob. Use a knife blade or a thin screwdriver and slide it in the gap of the end that has the holes for the Ring. Pry open the Fob and it will open into two halves. One side will have a flat battery.
1 -- have ALL fobs on hand, including those which might already be programmed correctly. The programming will "erase" your old ones.

2 -- Unlock the doors. Put the key in the ignition, and turn from "Off" to "ACC" 5 times in under 10 seconds. The doors will lock. Leave key in the ACC position

3 -- Program the fobs by pressing any key on the fob. Do this for each fob. The doors locks will lock/unlock

4 -- Turn the key to Off. Locks will lock/unlock, and you are out of programming mode.

5 -- Test all remotes.
