Clean it or replace it.
Answer by Tigercadd:
The 4 cylinder engine has no EGR valve and the V-6 rarely fails. If you're getting an EGR flow overspeed or underspeed code, you simply need to clean the EGR passages at the back of your throttle body. You can have a shop do it for $100 or simply get a TB gasket and do it yourself. Once you remove the TB and gasket you will understand what to do. Put a sheet of common aluminum foil under the TB to catch all the chunky crud. You don't need that dropping onto your transmission case.
in ya mum
That is the code for "EGR Restricted Flow." You may need a new EGR valve or EGR solenoid, you may have loose or leaking hoses, or you may need to replace the Differential Pressure Sensor (a last resort.)
Usually you replace the egr valve.
You replace the EGR valve.
A 1997 Dodge Ram doesn't have a EGR valve.
replace the egr valve
I had this problem on my Escape. I removed the EGR valve and noticed that a piece of trash was stuck in the valve keeping it from closing and causing this vacuum leak. I took a screw driver and opened the valve to remove the trash. This fixed it.
change the egr valve
Replace the EGR valve.
If it's a 2.4 L DOHC motor, there is no EGR valve.
Normal cause if a failed egr valve.
It depends on what you want to fix.
