Locate the 2 plugs on the transmission. You should have one one the drivers side towards the top and one directly on the bottom. On my 97 s-10 both metal plugs take a 17mm Hexhead to remove them. When removing them always remove the top one first. You can use a rubber hose and funnel or a MTF Pump to refill it. Screw the bottom one back in and add fluid through the top plug until fluid starts to come out. Screw in top plug and you're done.
You fill it until it runs out the fill hole on the side of the transmission.
There is a plug on the side of the tranny. take it out. If fluid runs out, put the plug back in the hole and get on with life. If no fluid runs out, check your manual for what transmission fluid to use. Fill it till it runs out at the plug a bit. Be sure to use the transmission fluid recommended for Chevy S10 5 speed manual transmissions.
No dipstick on the manual transmission , fluid level is checked underneath the car at the transmission fill plug
under the truck, on the side passenger side of the transmission case is a screw-in bolt for check/fill
you have to go from under the car on the drivers side. there is a dip stick/fill hole
you fill it the same way you check it same hole
The transmission fill plug is a square-drive plug located vertically on the driver's side of the transmission, just to the rear of the right-side halfshaft. The transmission should take 2.5 quarts or until the fluid is to the bottom of the fill hole.
Manual transmissions don't require fluid. Yes!!! manual transmissions also requires fluid. Drain plug is located under the transmission. It requires a 15/16 wrench. The fill plug is located on the side of the tranny towards the front of the vehicle.
The fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the side of the manual transmission underneath the vehicle with the vehicle level
On a 2000 Ford Ranger : On a manual transmission , underneath the vehicle , on the transmission will be a fill plug . With the vehicle level the fill plug is cleaned and removed to check the fluid level ( the fluid level should be at the bottom of the fill plug hole )
Fill plug on the side of the transmission case.
The manual transmission on a Ford Ranger should be changed on a regular basis. Fill the transmission with any good quality regular or synthetic transmission fluid.
