It does not have a drain plug. You need to remove trans pan to drain.
Remove transmission oil pan if no drain plug
It does not have one. You have to remove the transmission pan that is bolted to the bottom of the trans. Be sure to have a big drain pan to catch the fluid. The only thing that will come out is fluid.
You drain the fluid first, and then replace the filter and put new fluid back in.
look on passenger side of engine towards the back and look way down
Fill.
To Drain the fluid you must drop the pan. To add fluid you pour it down the dip-stick tube.
transmission fluid is in the transmission
Drain and refill .......4.0 quarts Dry .........................8.8-10.0 quarts Dexron III or Mercon fluid
The 1994 takes Mercon transmission fluid
You can drop the transmission oil pan to change the filter but you will only be able to drain aprox 3 to 4 qts of trans fluid in the process.
Where do I add transmission fluid to a 1994 Ford explorer with a manual transmission?
