I have a 2001 325ci BMW with 150,000 miles. When should I check or change the transmission fluid?
there is no dipstick to check the fluid, the fluid is lifetime and never needs to be changed or serviced, there is a fill plug on the bottom of the transmission, engine running, and trans warm, fluid should pour slightly out of fill plug..
In order to check the transmission fluid on a 2000 BMW 323i, you must first determine whether the transmission is manual or automatic. If it's automatic, it's not suggested that you change it yourself. If it's manual, you should look in the user's manual for instructions.
Pull out the stick and it will tell you on the stick how to check it properly.Wrong. The 540i has a sealed transmission. To check or change fluid you must raise car keeping level, remove Allen head plug.Fluid should be level at top of plug hole.
Under the car, on the transmission itself
