1999 Isuzu trooper
I have a 1994 Isuzu Trooper and it has issues upshifting at lower speeds. How do I check the fluid level in the transmission when there is no dipstick?
When changing the filter and fluids of a car, it is important to know the fluid capacity. A 2000 Isuzu Trooper uses 9.1 quarts of transmission fluid.
if it is an automatic then yes, if it is a standard transmission then no
ATF-III
Same location where you pour the motor oil
Yes. The tranny will not have enough fluid in it!
There is a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. To fill it, there is a plug toward the top of the transmission case where U have to pump the new fluid in till it starts to drain out.. There is no fill or trans. dipstick in top.
If auto--through the dipstick tube If standard through side plug in transmission
Transmission fluid level: As you don
The Isuzu has a sealed transmission. It has a transmission fill plug on the side of the transmission above the pan, I believe on the right side of the trans case about midway the case body. Take the pan off remove and change filter. Add fluid by using an inexpensive pump until the fluid starts to run out the fill plug hole. Replace the plug. Job done.
To change the transmission fluid, jack up your SUV to have enough room to get under the vehicle comfortably and safely. Find the transmission and have a drain pan under it. Remove the drain plug and allow fluid to drain. Remove all of the bolts and lower the transmission pan. Remove the transmission filter and replace if needed.
