How to open the OEM key fob/intelligent key for a 2005 Murano:
1: Take out the spare physical key from the main body of the fob by holding the small slide switch on the back of the remote.
2: From where the key was removed, there is a small notch about the size of a normal flathead screwdriver bit. Using something like a set of average sized broad ended tweezers or a small enough flathead screwdriver, insert one tip and twist it against the inside. The fob should snap open at this point to reveal the battery compartment.
3: The battery needed in our fob was a C+ 2025 (I think?) It is easily bought anywhere they sell the flat batteries, like Wal-Mart, Target, etc. 4: Once you put the battery in (negative side down), you can simply snap the backing back on. I found it easiest to put the rounded end together first before snapping the ends where the physical key goes in.
