Accellerate more gradually, don't drive more than 55 mph, and slow down more gradually. Driving style has so much to do with fuel economy.

Also, reduce air resistance and weight, e.g. remove bike racks or roof storage if you have them. Slower breaking. Make sure your air filter and oil are clean. Check your tire pressure regularly.
