For catalytic converter cleaning just add two quarts of Marvel Mystery Oil into one quarter tank or five gallons of gas. This will clean the whole fuel system. While it is in the gas it will smoke like crazy sputter and hesitate but do not worry. This worked for me on three out of three cars with dirty catalytic converters turning on the check engine light and causing poor performance. Following my instructions will also greatly improve performance and gas mileage.
A Catalytic Converter is used to clean the fumes of the exhaust emmisions coming out of a motorised vehicle.
Marvel Mystery Oil is made from a proprietary blend of mineral oils, detergents, and additives designed to clean and lubricate various parts of an engine. The exact formulation is a trade secret.
According to the Federal Clean Air Act, all factory-installed catalytic converters on 1995 or later model vehicles are warranted for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
NO WAY!!! otherwise you'd see tons of commercial products for cheapper than the cat, but still expensive enough to cause a problem to average consumers.
Oh, dude, a '94 Ford Ranger typically has two catalytic converters. But hey, if you're looking to start a catalytic converter collection, I wouldn't judge you. Just make sure you're not swiping them off people's cars in the middle of the night, okay?
Type your answer here... catalytic converters
If the system is complete and in working order, the air pump driven off the engine accessory belt, pumps fresh air into those tubes you question. The fresh air pumped in helps the catalytic converters clean up emissions. You can plug them off if you want to but you may not pass an emission test.
Marvel Mystery Oil does not contain alcohol. It is primarily made up of petroleum-based mineral oil and various additives designed to clean and lubricate engine components.
You cannot clean it. If it is clogged it must be replaced.
To clean up exhaust emissions, particularly carbon monoxide. The old suicide method of running a car engine in a sealed space is now almost impossible! However, in a recent episode of Emmerdale, they got round that issue by using a very old Citroen 2CV, which never had a catalytic converter.
Can't just replace
You don't. You replace it.
