We changed compressor, put in new air bags, and car sits sideways. What needs to be bled? 1996 Lincoln Twncar.
I had '97 that I had to change the pump and bags at six years. Another '97 still has it's OEM pump and bags, my mother-in law drive it now.
Your air bags have been popped probably during an oil change when the air system switch in the trunk was not turned off before going on the lift.
An AC compressor compresses the freon and circulates the freon through the system. An air ride compressor pumps compressed air into air bags to level the vehicle and/or alter the handling of the vehicle.
Probably a leak in one or more of your air bags but could be your compressor too.
The air compressor is below the window washer bottle below the air cleaner on the driver's side behind the headlight.
How do you change out a air ride compressor on a 2002 Cadillac Escalade?
put an air compressor hose on one end
It is recommend, my air bags finally went out on my 01 Expy and I just replaced them with a new after market set from Suncore Industies. They highly recommended replacement of the dryer. It will extened the life of the air compressor. I replaced the air dryer being I still had my original OEM. The entire job was easy to do and everthing works great.
no you do not yo may have to bleed out all the air
how do i replace the rear air compressor in my 2004 escalade
Bad solenoid, leaking bags
In a gear driven compressor which is integral to the engine (as is the case with heavy duty trucks), you don't - the motor oil flows through the compressor, lubricating it. That's why it's also a telltale sign that the compressor is bad if you bleed the air tanks and have oil coming out.
