DTC stands for Diagnostic Trouble Code.
Since all cars after '96 have OBD 11 it takes a scanner to remove the trouble codes. Auto Zone will do it for free. it does have obdII but the codes will be erased by unhooking the battery.
pretty much instantly. As soon as the codes are cleared the check engine light goes off and vice versa, unless there still is trouble. In this case the codes won't clear until the trouble is repaired.
From '96 up the Tauri (and all cars) had OBD2 systems, which (I believe) can not be read without a scanner. Many chain auto parts stores will check codes on these cars for free.
1996 and newer cars are required to be OBD2... It stands for On Board Diagnostics, so a mechanic can plug in a scanner to read trouble codes and other stuff
like most cars just disconnect the hot cable on the battery, that usually works on most cars
chances are you will have to take car to dealer or mechanic to have them hook up a diagnostic machine to the cars computer
It will drain the battery in the short term, but in the long term battery life really isn't effected.
yes they use gasoline cars but they do sell battery cars in Japan
Ther wasn't a battery in the first cars.
Double Trouble - The Cars song - was created in 1987.
On Pre-OBDII cars - Chrysler use 2 digit codes. So I believe you have 2 separate codes "12" and "55". "12" is the battery has been disconnected recently "55" is end of stored codes
