I believe the dealership gets 190.00 time and plugs
no spark from the coil, or the icm, or plugs are shot or plug wires, no fuel,no shark no start
check plugs, wires, or coil packs. on cylinder #5. But if your changing plugs or wires do them all at one not just #5. ------------------------- Dont forget to check the Fuel Injector also. You can test the injector by swapping the # 5 injector with the injector from any other cylinder. If the miss changes cylinder then the injector is bad.
They are on top of the cylinder head below the coil packs. If you are replacing them it will be BEST to use Motorcraft plugs and to put anti-seize on the threads.
1. Make sure the spark plugs are connected in the proper order. 2. Make sure all plug wires are tight to the distributor and plugs. 3. Inspect cap and rotor for damage or wear.
the problem will be one or more coils and plugs needs replacing
The plugs are located on the inboard side of the cylinder head near the intake manifold, under or near the fuel injection rails. You do not have spark plug wires, but rather 8 separate ignition coils that sit on top of the spark plugs.
The wires are fine, they were engineered to handle the electrical load of normal operation. If the wires have overheated it's because something shorted out or someone connected the electrical wrong.
How do I replace the block heater in my 1998 F150 4.6L?
Start with a good tune up, new plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor, fuel and air filter. Clean the idle air control and inside the throtle body, and run some injector cleaner through it.

No, 97-03 F150's have a 5x135 lug pattern.
