Glass pack muffler is a term used to describe a muffler configuration that uses a "pack" or lining made of fiberglass strands to reduce and dampen exhaust noise. The "glass" cannot be "broken" like a pane of glass. Over a period of time the individual strands will deteriorate due to thermal expansion/contraction, harsh exhaust corrosive gases, and road shock. This will lead to a louder exhaust note but reduced back pressure.
do like i did and buy the muffler you like. Then go to a muffler shop and have them make a cat back exhaust. Its cheaper and you dont have to worry if it will fit right.
It will be in the exhaust system about half the way back. It looks like a muffler but it will be before the muffler. It is closer to the engine.
The 02 sensors are screewed into the exhaust system. Start up by the engine exhaust manifolds and work your way back to the muffler and you will see them. There will not be any after the muffler. That truck should have 4 of them.
The exhaust system on a 1996 Toyota is located underneath the vehicle. This system runs all the way from under the motor to the very back of the vehicle to the muffler.
Usually.
O2 sensors are always screewed into the EXHAUST system. Look at the exhaust from the engine alway back to the muffler and you will find them.
They are in the exhaust pipe system, Just start at the exhaust manifolds on the engine and work your way back to the muffler, There will be none after the muffler. They are about 3 inches long and have 1 single wire going to them. I think there is 3 of them.
They are in the Exhaust pipe system, And have one single wire going to them. Start up by the engine and work your way back the exhaust system and you will find them, I believe there is 3 in the system. Nothing after the muffler.
yes it will has to do with back pressure exhaust from the engine
They are screewed into the exhaust system / Pipes. Start were the exhaust bolts up to the engine and work your way back to the muffler and you will find THEM. There could be up to 4 oxygen sensers on yours. There about 3 to 4 inches long and have an electric wire pluged to the ends of them. There will not be any after the muffler.
it could be that your catylitic converter is plugged up. disconect the exhaust system and see if it glows red. if it does connect it back. this could mean that your muffler is the problem. if not this then it could be that an exhaust valve is cracked. the same thing happend to my 1992 ford f150. it could be that your catylitic converter is plugged up. disconect the exhaust system and see if it glows red. if it does connect it back. this could mean that your muffler is the problem. if not this then it could be that an exhaust valve is cracked. the same thing happend to my 1992 ford f150.
