it wont just come out. you need to pump the brake pedal.
my guess is that it is the brake relay
Check the fuse, bulbs and actual regulator switch in that order
theres a pressure switch just above brake pedal under the dash probably bad
The brake light switch is either broken or out of adjustment. The switch is located above the brake pedal.

check the switch that is located on the brake pedal arm. sounds like it is out of adjustment. pull pedal up and see if switch is still engaged. not sure if this switch slides back and forth or screws in and out. back it off till lights go out with no pressure on pedal.
the symptoms are that oil will not go throw the brake lines to bleed them and the pedal some of the symptoms are hard pedal you wont be able to bleed your back brakes no oil no back brakes check these first before you change your master cylinder or your brake booster..
Check the brake light switch down on the brake pedal.
Look at your brake pedal where it connects under the dash. The problems you are having are both related to the brake pedal. There is a safety feature that won't allow you to shift your tranny until you have applied the brake, and since your brake lights are not coming on, there is either an electrical connection or a mechanical connection that is not working.
do your brake lights work wen pressing brake . if not its the brake pedal sensor
You must have air in the system. Get your brakes checked ASAP !
