you can adjust the spring preload just loosen the nut at the front of the shock but not eather of the mounting bolts its the biggest nut on the shocks to increase the preload using a spanner wrench turn the shock adjusting plate toward the jam nut that's the small mounting nut at the front of the shock and to decrease the preload turn the adjusting plate toward the mounting bolts at the rear of the shock do the same amount of turns to both shocks and then tighten the jam nuts.
You bet. Hard tail bikes have no shocks so the ride is rougher
There are no adjustments. Compression and rebound are set from the factory. If you want a different ride height, you will have to buy aftermarket parts and rebuild the shocks, or replace them completely with after market shocks which can feature adjustable ride height.
The soft tail has the shock absorber mounted underneath the bike. The hinge is still in the normal position on the frame however the "normal" dual external shocks mounted on the side(one each left/right) are not present. The usually single shock is hidden from view underneath the frame almost directly under the drivers seat to be more asthetically pleasing. Most stock under shocks are rated at 300 pounds. There is a heavy duty shock for 500 pounds. The term soft tail is really a misnamed title. Any motorcycle frame with a shock absorber is soft as opposed to the rigid or hard tail frames still in use today.
I believe they are the same as the other soft tail 2004 bikes 1455cc.
An alligators tail feels soft kind of like a soft pillow it is because of the soft skin that feels like silk and the cartilage underneath that has the same texture as soft thick cotton.

yes. if you cook it
Have you checked to see if there is any adjustment in your shocks? Soft tail located under the frame. If it is side rub check the wheel alignment, count the threads on the adjusting bolts at the rear on each side. Hop e it works David
