1995 4L60E transmissions are unique to 1995. No other year will work 100% correctly. It has to do with the electronics, and the lock-up solonoid for the torque converter. Other years maybe able to be modified to work, but it would be such a job that rebuilding your current trans would be a better option.
bad catalytic converter
I have a 1995 chevy 4x4 with 4l60e which is bad i have other 4l60e out of a 1997 chevy 4x4 will it work ?
According to DriveTrain.com 1993 thru 2003 are the same. See Link. Hope This Helps.
bad sunshell in trans...very common in the 4l60e transmission google it and you will see...GOOD LUCK
The only YEAR that will work in that truck is a 1996 MODEL 4L60E transmission. That was a bad year for things interchangeing. And you own it.
Bad fans or the sensors that tell the fan when to kick on are bad.
bad transmission.
the trans will still shift into gear with a bad clutch you will find tho, sometimes this will not happen. usaully it is NOT indicative of other problems.
trans fat is not good for your body it can be bad for you and it is hard to lose trans fat off of your body so try to stay away with stuff that has (Trans Fat in it) bad for you take my advice.
Tach is driven by a motor signal, speedo is from the trans the sensor is bad on the transmission
No..... But they can have problems just like any other trans.
Swapping out a 4L80E for a 4L60E is a bad idea... the 4L80E has a much higher horsepower and torque rating, and, if a vehicle came with the 4L80E, it probably needs it. Swapping out a 4L60E for a 4L80E could be done, but there's no real benefit unless, for example, you were swapping in a diesel or a big block.
