There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

Have the on board diagnostics (OBD) reset by using an obd tester or go to a mechanic and have them clear the codes and reset it for you. Some places will do it for free, possibly a parts store also.
