clutch switch is bad
Probably a clutch, but might be a problem in the trany.
yea
Needs a new clutch
A stall occurs when the cycle of an engine is slowed down temporarily, or more commonly, to a complete stop. In terms of automobiles, a stall can happen with both manual and automatic transmissions. In the common case of a person releasing the clutch to quickly, a large load is applied to the engine from the crankshaft when the clutch is released. The transmission must rotate in the same direction and at relatively the same speed in order to reduce the load, thus keeping the engine running.
Why engine stalls on 1993 Chrysler Intrepid while driving and sometimes at stops?
when your in a manual and you have the car in first gear with the clutch all out the wheels cannot move and so the engine cannot work or it will break so the car stalls and the engine turns off
The torque converter clutch may be staying engaged, causing it to kill the engine when stopping.
Check for a) a weak spark, b) a weak charging system, or c) a failure of an element of the fuel system. Vacuum advance, incorrect ignition timing. A car stalls when the engine receives a sudden massive increase in load (think when you were learning to drive - releasing the clutch too quickly would cause the car to stall by transferring too much friction too quickly from the gearbox to the engine) If the car only stalls when you are setting out from stationary then better engine/clutch control control is needed, or there is a problem with fuel or clutch. If it is an old car, try putting more choke on when pulling away. If the car stalls all the time, the general reason is that there is probably either a fuel or an ignition problem causing the engine to cut out. Of course, there could be any number of things wrong with your car if it stalls during normal driving (i.e., not when starting from stationary). It may need a tune-up. In general, a failure to run and idle properly.
Check for vacuum leaks.
The light comes on when the car stalls because the engine is not running and the pump therefore is not pumping. The pressure will always be 0 when the engine stalls and the light is directly related to pressure. This is normal, you have no problem, other than the engine stalling.
I know about the starter and ignition, but I click the ignition and then it clicks, then when I press and hold the starter it starts then immediatly stalls, I have tried it in neutral, in gear, with clutch, without clutch, with clutch and throttle.
