I don't know why, I cried. I thought it was very sad and I don't think he should have died. But then again, after the seventh book, I think it was for a reason.
(this one's by another person, by the way)
I think because, in one of the books, he put on a ring. And that ring was going to kill him ( you know, Dumbledore's shrivelled hand) and so he asked Snape to kill him (if I remember right). Why he put on the ring, I don't think I know, but I have a theory.
J.k Rowling must have wanted us to be really sure that Snape was really on the dark side before we realized that he was on Dumbledore's side.
Who really knows.... It might just have been so Snape could get his chance at being headmaster at Hogwarts. Maybe so Harry could name one of his sons after him. I guess only J.K Rowling knows.....
i think itsfor many reasons, cause if he didn't die, voldemort wouldn't have been able to get his wand to easy and all htos other events that lead right up to harry killing voldy
JK Rowling chose not to kill Harry Potter as she wanted to end the series on a hopeful note, with themes of love and sacrifice prevailing over evil. Killing off the main protagonist would have conflicted with the overall message of the series and the journey of Harry's character development.
JK Rowling killed off Fred Weasley because people die in wars. She told us that if she didn't kill off a important, well-loved character that it would've been too happy and seem almost unreal. She was going to kill of Arthur Weasley but since he was the only good father figure left, she decided not to.
Severus Snape killed Dumbledore because Dumbledore had asked him to. It was like a trap for Voldemort because he thought that Snape was doing a good job but Snape was actually on Harry's side. But it was also revealed that the the poison killed him so that is why Voldemort could not wield the elder's wand after he (Voldemort) killed Snape.
