All of them try to depict Mexican history and culture, from the ancient Aztecs some 700 years ago to present-day Mexico (circa 1950, when those murals were painted). Also, most of them have socialist motifs, showing the class conflict; this is because Diego Rivera and most muralists at the time, sympathized with socialist ideals brought by the Russian Revolution.
