The backlight on the 6th gen iPod nano is known to be moisture sensitive. Rain, or even sweat, may enter the body of the iPod and corrode the contacts that connect the display assembly to the main board.
Replacement of the screen may work although in most cases this is due to the connectors being scraped clean of corrosion. Same effect might be had by just reseating the original display assembly.
To get rid of moisture put the iPod in a sealed container with a couple of packets of Silicagel (or dry kitty-litter). Or put it in a warm (not hot) dry place for a couple of days.
My iPod got thrown into the pool and the backlight stopped working. I have to put it in direct light to see anything on the screen.
Go to the sttings menu and select backlight then select off.
It depends on why it's not working. If the iPod just randomly died and won't turn on, the best thing to do is to hold the home and on/off button at the same time untill it switches on.
why does my ipod touch log out of everthing randomly
The only way to fix the backlight when it's dim is to replace the LCD. On ebay there are parts and people who service these jobs for cheap
On any iPod touch, to adjust the backlight, follow these steps: 1. Go to Settings 2. Scroll down and click Brightness 3. Now you can adjust the backlights brightness. (sorry I don't know how to time the backlight to dim after a certain amount of time, although I don't even think it's possible on the itouch but only on the nano)
Yes, I believe the Backlight in my iPod Touch has also degraded as I can only just about see the apps on my screen as it is extremely dark.
Probably because you misplaced them.
No the iPod Nano does cannot use apps.
On Amazon you can get an 8 gigabyte sixth generation iPod nano for as little as $134.95. A 16 gigabyte sixth generation iPod nano on Amazon is $164.95.
The current iPod Nano does not display photos.
Take it to a specialist and ask them.
