The sx-wnaj70 speakers are originally from a component system deck, which included dual cassette player recorders, AM/FM radio.. a bookshelf system. There are 2 wires that come from the back of each of these speakers. One set is for the normal speaker and the other is for the sub woofer. Top wires being the speaker, bottom wires being the sub woofer.
Just remove the RCA jacks by cutting them close to the RCA jack, strip them back about 1/2-1/4", add some solder to the ends to keep them tidy. Connect them to your speaker output terminals, with the white dashes being the red side and the plain wires being the black side.. I have a pair of these speakers and just finished hooking them up to my surround sound stereo receiver. These are a front set of speakers as noted on the ID tag w/serial number, so they were sold with multiple units other than your model, but they have many uses.. Good Luck
The Sony Home Sound line comes with large bookshelf speakers and even a small subwoofer, rather than small satellite speakers.
You can build your own very loud bookshelf speakers by constructing small, wooden boxes. Holes are cut in them in the side of the speakers which will allow for sound to be amplified.
Bookshelf speakers are the easiest to blend into a living room.
Speakers are electronic items used to produce sound. Best Buy is a retailer that sells speakers and speaker systems including iPod speakers, bookshelf speakers, outdoors speakers and subwoofer speakers.
A bookshelf speaker system usually refers to two stereo speakers and a receiver that is small enough to sit on a bookshelf. Where as, a wall mount speaker system consists of at least five surround sound speakers mounted on the wall and a sub-woofer for deep clear bass preferably in a corner of the room.
Bookshelf or Satellite speakers are pretty standard for surround sound but they may require wall mounting or specific placement.
Bookshelves speakers can range from the low $60s to $1000+. For instance, the Sony SSB3000 can be bought for $69.99 from Sony, while Sears sells the KEF Q300CH for $1039.98.

12 by 8 by 12 is a common size for a medium sized bookshelf speaker. I was looking yesterday at Best Buy here in Tampa, they had about 8 different sized ones. Good performance can easily be achieved with small speakers, using a hidden sub woofer to reproduce bass frequencies. Most modern 7.1 home theatre receivers allow you to set the bookshelf speakers to "small", so bass is sent to the subwoofer. Releved of the burden of reproducing bass, bookshelf speakers will play amazingly loud and clean. My advice is to select a decent quality speaker that fits the place you want to put it, and simply buy a sub woofer for bass impact.
You need an amplifier for any speakers if they are to function.
sony The answer to that question depend highly upon the type of speakers you are looking for and your budget. 'Compact' speakers like bookshelf speakers for Home Theater applications are made by hundreds of manufacturers, but the best in the market are made by JBL, Klipsch and Tannoy. Price-is-no-object audiophile speakers can usually beat these major brands, but a a cost of several thousand per speaker.
The Bose 161 bookshelf speakers average around the price of $161 US currency. These may be found cheaper by visiting local department stores such as Walmart, or purchasing directly from Bose.
