Yes they are. They all play DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.Yes they do. They need to be connected to the HDTV with 1080P and a HDMI cable for the Bluray to work as a Blue ray disc player
Beacaus bluray is newer and they think everybody has a bluray player... eventually it will come on dvd.
the difference between and regular dvd and blu ray is a whole different experience. the quality is so much better and come is 720p 1080p. the quality is magnificent.
Could be nothing more than the Bluray DVD's that you're watching aren't encoded in 5.1 surround.
DvD is becoming the video tape as more and more blurays are released with dvd sure the picture is clear and all but with buying bluray you know the quality cant get any better since 1080p is best the human eye can see any higher it'd just look the same. why not spend the extra 5 bucks and get the bluray instead of the soon to be out dated dvd
The difference would be about the same as the jump from VHS to DVD (if it's a miniDV camcorder) or from VHS to bluray (if it's a 720p or better digital camcorder.)
A DVD player cannot play a BluRay disc. A BluRay player can play both BluRay discs and DVDs.
You will need a source that outputs at 1080p. Most cable boxes/ satellite boxes do not have the ability to output 1080p (Their native resolution being 1080i/720p) Blu-ray players including the PS3, the Xbox360 along with some other streaming video devices are the only way to get a 1080p signal on your TV. Keep in mind that your content will also have to be capable of 1080p. Some video games are capable, all Blu-rays are as well. A DVD in a Blu-ray player will NOT give you 1080p.
Yes, BluRay DVD players also play non Blu-Ray DVDs with no problem.
The 1080p HDTV is definitely a lot clearer and you shows will look so much better. It does not cost too much more, and is worth the small price. The biggest advantage is for watching DVD's and Blu ray's where the difference is very noticeable.
Hi There Its Dosen't Matter If It's A 720p You Can Still Buy A Blue Ray Player If You Want A 1080p Dvd Player You TV Format Is Compatable With It So Will Still Look Like A 1080p.. Its Your Choice Or You Can Just Buy A 720 Blue Ray But I Would Say 1080p Hope This Helps
Blu Ray DVD players offer the best quality picture there is. It's almost too clear for my liking, but my husband who is a movie buff absolutely loves it. We have it combined with an LCD tv and the picture quality is phenomenal.
