DirecTV service is known for its very high clarity and steadiness , but is subject to the same problems that trouble any satellite TV service. Namely, the signal can suffer in inclement weather, although this is not the case for all customers. Also, it does not work well in areas that do not have clear views to the sky in the direction in which the satellite signals come from (there must be a clear line of site in a southeasterly direction in most areas of the United States).
