There is a huge amount of infrared and ultraviolet energy in the Sun's rays. You may not be able to see them, but they will still focus close enough to your eyes' retinas to fry them, starting at the center and work out to the edges.

So, for the rest of your life, you will see only a white or black spot as you try to look at something. This is similar to the disease, Macular Degeneration.
