I wouldn't trade my dad for a cosmonaut! I'm pretty sure that it was a cosmonaut that was the first to orbit the Earth.

Never. It was "terminated" July 1979. Most of it burned up on reentry although due to a calculation error, many pieces were spread over the southern hemisphere. NASA was actually fined $400 for littering in Esperance.
