There are a very wide range of mineral or chemical resources on other planets. For example, the outer planets and their moons have essentially unlimited supplies of hydrocarbons, which are so highly sought after here on Earth. Nickel and iron are extremely abundant in the asteroid belt (asteroids are technically planetoids, rather than planets). Other planets have lots of solar energy, since the sun shines on them just as it shines on Earth. On Mercury, the sunlight is tremendously more intense than it is on Earth, since Mercury is much closer to the sun. Even on the moon, the sunlight is more intense, since there is no atmosphere, and the sunlight arrives unfiltered. Of course, it is extremely expensive to travel in space, so no matter what kind of resources exist on other planets, it will not necessarily be cost effective to make use of them. That remains to be seen.
