The rate of movement of molecules is called temprature.the instrument used to measure the temperature is called thermometer.thermo came from thermal means heat and meter means to measure.there are different kinds of thermometer one is known as Celsius or centigrade in which the water freezes at zero and boils at 100c the another thermometer mainly known as clinical thermometer but actual name is frontier thermometer in which the water freezes at 32 and boils at 212.

there are some other thermometers also named rummer and kelvin.

heat is another thing it is the form of energy,it is measured in calories the defination of calorie is as under:

the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water to 1 degree centigrade is called 1 calorie.it is a lower value of heat normally it is measured in kilo calories.
