summer solstice. Longest day of the year (in the northern hemisphere)

Inmost places in the northern hemisphere the longest day of the year is not in fact 21st June. As June ends the sun continues to set later by approximately 2 mins. per day and rises at the same time or slightly earlier. I believe this is due to the "wobble" of the earth.
