In my opinion the Challenger space shuttle wasn't ready to be launched in the first place. But I'm truly sorry, no one really knows exactly why for sure this tragedy happened. Only God knows for sure.

The space shuttle Discovery did not blow up. It successfully completed 39 missions before being retired. If you are referring to the Challenger disaster in 1986, that was caused by the failure of an O-ring seal in one of the solid rocket boosters, leading to the destruction of the shuttle.
