This is flase. The size of the planet does not have much to do with its rotation rate, particularely in a planet made of silicate. Stars in general change their rotation rate with time and people believe it may be related with generation of magnetic field for example.

The planet Mercury rotates very slowly. While Earth has a solar day OS 24h Mercury's solar day is about 176 Earth days. It takes Mercury around six months to give a full turn over its own axis.
