The planets in order closest to the sun are: Mercury-Venus-Earth-Mars-Jupiter-Saturn-Uranus-Neptune(If you want you can include Pluto as the farthest planet from the sun but it is not a planet it is a dwarf planet. Closeness to the sun has no relevance to the speed of a planet. However, the closer a planet is to the sun, the faster it completely its circuit around the sun because it has a shorter circuit complete. Mars, being quite close to the sun, takes a shorter time to complete its circuit around the sun compared to the planets which are further away from the sun.

What causes the planet's that are closer to the sun to move faster?

it's gravity

How do planets move if they are closer to the sun?

Planets closer to the sun move faster in their orbits due to the stronger gravitational pull from the sun. This increased speed helps to counteract the stronger pull of gravity, allowing them to maintain a stable orbit.

Why does it take planets longer to go round the sun?

Gravity. The closer a planet is to the sun, the faster it must move to keep from falling into the sun. So note; the closer in; the smaller the orbit AND the faster the speed.

What causes the planets that are closer to the sun move faster?

since it is closer to the sun it gets around the sun faster cause it has less of a rotation to go around Mercury only has 88 days in a year cause its closer but since were farther we have 365 days in a year

Kepler discovered that planets move faster when they?

Kepler discovered that planets move faster when they are closer to the sun in their elliptical orbits. This relationship is described by Kepler's second law of planetary motion, which states that a planet sweeps out equal areas in equal times as it orbits the sun.

Is Mars closer to the sun more than Earth?

Earth is closer to the Sun Earth is 92,960,000 miles (149,600,000 km) Sun, Distance to Earth Mars is141,600,000 miles (227,900,000 km) Mars, Distance from Sun

Why do the 4 inner planets revolve around the sun at a faster speed?

The inner planets revolve around the sun at faster speeds because they are closer to the sun, which results in a stronger gravitational pull. This stronger gravitational pull causes the inner planets to move faster in order to maintain their orbits around the sun.
