Check if the clutch is working properly.
what is going on
Its the gear shift. It's not all the way in park. The car may not be moving, but its not locked in the park position. Check it out. I had the same exact problem
u have to greese the shaft under thr stick
Check for any obstructions in the linkage.
It's possibly the park safety switch above the brake pedal. If it's stuck or faulty it hinders you from putting the vehicle into gear because it thinks that the brake is not applied. Hope this helps.
A Turbo 350 transmission will not go into park if the shift lever is out of alignment. There is an adjustment point on the side of the transmission where each gear position can be set for optimal shifting.
push the little knob at the base of the shifter in front of it see if that will do it for you
You can also start a car in Neutral. Also remember to put your foot on the brake too.
If the gear shift won't go into park on an automobile, the parking brake should be engaged and the vehicle turned off. This will prevent the vehicle from rolling away and potentially causing damage.
there is a fuse, but 9 out of ten times it will be the motor.
it should go right in. I have worked for Toyota for a number of years and I dont see a problem there. Just keep in mind if you have a 4 cylinder use a 4 cylinder trans. Same goes true for a V6
