They will fit on your rims, however they may be too big for your wheel wells.

I Have just bought mags with 235 / 45 R17 97W tyres - for my 2000 VW Golf - the wheel bolts are 5 / 100 and offset is 32-45 apparently normally tyres used for falcon or firebird.. i have been told the wheels are ok but the width e.g 235 is too big for golf and will adversely affect the steering - they advised a 215 or less / 45

235 / 65 / R17 is ( 29 inches in diameter and the tire section width is 9.3 inches ) 245 / 70 / R18 is ( 31.5 inches in diameter and the section width is 9.6 inches )
