how do u remove cv axle driverside 1991 toyota corolla
yes
A Nissan Altima with a cracked axle. Meaning the part that connects your tire to the transmission is broken....
Remove the tire and wheel from your 1989 Toyota Corolla. Remove the end of the axle. Remove the axle seal. Remove the wheel bearing. Reverse the process to install your new wheel bearing.
If the transmission housing is not cracked there is a good chance that the trans is OK. Sometimes the axle absorbs all the shock. If the housing is cracked then you may have trans problems. Mark
yes
My 1997 one is 30mm if that helps, Stu.
For Axle Nut its 30mm
It would be easiest with an impact, but a breaker bar may work.
You don't have to, but if its been torn for a while, a lot of filth gets in there and after you pay to have a boot put on,there is a 50-50 chance you will notice a grinding sound coming from the joint; then you have to pay to do it all over again. If there are over 75,000 miles on it, I would replace the axle. Mark
It depends on which boot you are referring to, there are spark plug boots, intake boot and axle boots. A cracked spark plug boot will be causing a misfire, having the computer codes read will give you the cylinder#. The axle boot is easy to find because the grease will leak out of the boot and dirty the inside of the rim or coat the frame near the leaking boot. A cracked intake will store a lean code in the computer, you can visually check for cracks will flexing the pipe. An old way of checking is by lightly spraying starter fluid( sensor safe) on the tube. If there is a leak the rpms will climb when you spray it.
It does have CV joints but, it is best to just swap out the complete axle assembly than to replace only the CV joint. You will spend much time and almost as much money trying to replace the CV joint than to just purchase a reconditioned axle assembly and swap it.
