To fix the Subaru from starting when the temp drops below 32 --- just put new plugs in and us 92 octane fuel. It made a huge difference in our two Foresters.

This is a Frost or Freeze Warning Indicatorsymbol. The snowflake symbol will come on in amber when the outside temperature drops to within a few degrees of freezing. At freezing or below, the symbol will be red.
The hood release is below the dashboard and to the far left. It will raise the hood just far enough for you to reach under the middle of the front of the hood. Push the release lever there to the left to fully raise the hood.

Couldn't be easier. Once you locate the knock sensor below and behind the intake manifold, it is held on with one screw through the middle and connected to the wiring harness by one plug. Finding it is the hard part. --Ken
If it's 17 digits and contains both letters and numbers, then it's the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). It should match the number located on the edge of the driver side door, below the lock catch.

located on top of block, drivers side rear,single wire, one bolt mounting it to block. directly below throttle cables. Be sure to clean bolt threads with wire brush, and make sure block is clean.
