Coolant is added to the overflow bottle instead of the radiator. The overflow bottle will allow fluid to fill over into the radiator.
After your car has completely warmed up the coolant level should be at the hot line. If it lower than that , wait until the car cools off and add coolant until it reaches the cold line. Never add the coolant directly to the radiator as you may over fill it.
fill up the radiator and then fill up the over flow located on the pass. side of the truck half way
Low coolant, radiator restriction.Low coolant, radiator restriction.
There is a line on the overflow container to which it should not be overfilled. Otherwise it will push fluid out.
you don't have to disconnect the battery-some people do..coolant/engine should be cooled to a touch..remove radiator cap...find drain plug at the bottom of radiator-the wing bolt/bolt is usually facing the engine...place pail/pan under the spout area and open the bolt-DON'T OPEN ALL THE WAY OUT!!! or most of the coolant will be all over the floor...remove radiator hoses at bottom and top-perferabally radiator side...unplug wires to fans and coolant temp switch...remove top radiator brackets holding the radiator down....pull radiator up w/ fans still bolted.....to install just do the reverse....there is no bleeding hole on the 91 camry...to fill coolant (should be 50 %coolant/50% distilled water-KEEP COOLANT COLORS THE SAME!!! or else it will corrode the freeze plugs and evenually cause your car to overheat)...open the heat selector and turn the fan on "HI"...fill w/ coolant til full....start engine and keep filling til the coolant reaches the top...rev engine to above 2000rpm to see if coolant is suck down, then fill again if needed....put radiator cap back on and fill the coolant reserviour w/ 100% coolant..check for leaks and take it on a drive for a couple miles
Start with a cold engine.Remove the radiator cap and fill the radiator with Dexcool coolant (I think it's a red/pink color, not the usual green. DO NOT use any other product.)If the radiator was very low, start the car and add coolant as far as you can. Running a cold engine without the cap won't harm anything and allow air to escape from the cooling system.Replace the cap and add coolant to the overflow bottle. I fill it to the "cold line" so that I can see if it needs more over time.Drive the car and check for changes in the cold level. If coolant is still being lost then you must decide if you want to continue replacing coolant or take it to a shop for proper repair.
# Let the engine cool down enough so you don't burn yourself on the coolant. # Loosen the clamps on either end of the hose. # Pull of the damaged hose. # Clean the tubes where the new hose is about to be putt. # Put the clamps over the new hose. # Slip the hose over the tubes that the old hose came from. # Firmly tighten the hose clamps. # Remove the radiator cap. # Fill the radiator with coolant. # Replace the radiator cap. # Fill the coolant reservoir to the recommended level and replace the cap, Viola all done.
You just bough it and are changing the radiator....Radiotor liquid according to its instruction....and fill the radiator up....it had an over flow tank...
Yes, any coolant leak is serious.
The coolant goes into the overflow bottle on the passenger side, fill it cold and do not over fill.
As long as your reservoir has an overfill or overflow tube attached to it you can fill the radiator and the block itself with coolant and it will not hurt a thing.
