Find a trans shop, or a Toyota tech. Or you could get a manual and follow the diag for no reverse. You probably will need to take the trans out, take it apart and find out what broke.

i don't know if the engines are similar enough for me to answer you question but i have a '85 sr5 and when i took off my starter, all i had to do was remove two bolts from behind the starter. you really gotta get down and dirty because they are BACK THERE! hope this helps you out.

no the difference is in the trim on the vehicel the sr5 has a factory tach and sometimes a/c and power options other than the motors are the same
