i have an 87 b2000, i have no Power Steering pump, u might need to see if u have one or if the fluid is low

Try the bottom of the radiater on the driver's side, should be a plastic plug. If not, you may have to remove the water hose to drain. If the plug is there, it may be very small, and hard to see.
My guess is that you have a tired power steering pump. Try a power steering fluid flush first, it wouldn't hurt.
The shift gate or the synchronizers can be worn. Also the clutch can need adjustment if possible.
It could be a stuffed catalytic converter.
It'll be hard to steer a car. The steering wheel will be tough to steer.
Poor alignment.
It may be out of power steering fluid
the steering pump belt is loose and needs to be tightened up. hope this helps.
It is located on the right, behind and to the left of the battery, about 6 inches below the top of the engine. It is really hard to get to.
Under the hood, drivers side, small square box labeled diagnostics. It's actually hard to miss.
