I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent and have had the check engine light come on and stay on a couple of times requiring me to take it to the garage to have it checked and the light turned off. The problem seems to occur whenever I back the car out of the garage to get out my lawn tractor - I start the car and back it out and turn the car off, so the car is only running for a couple of minutes. When the garage tested the system to see why this occurred it registered "misfire". My garage attendant suggested that I leave the car running for a few minutes rather then just backing it out and shutting it off. I have been driving it around the block before shutting it off and the light has not come back on.
it has a problem

When my check engine light comes on, it is caused by the temperature sensor not working. As soon as the light comes on, my temperature drops to cool. If the light goes out, the temp gauge returns to normal.
No, the check engine light means there is a problem with the emissions system. The maintenance required light means something like an oil change needs to be done.
Probably need to check the crank sensor (if the check engine light is on) or the fuel pump... I had that problem not too long ago...
A blinking or flashing check engine light in any Hyundai is indicative of a misfire taking place. It could be due to a faulty ignition.coil, leaky ignition wires or bad or worn spark plugs.
How about checking engine control module? Would that tell anything?
