The best time to change the transmission is after it has been driven. It requires 5 quarts. I would wait the next day and check the transmission from a cold start. In other words, the transmission warm up takes 5 minutes. Once you start up the car, wait three minutes and shift through the gears to work the Transmission Fluid through. Once the you reach the five minute mark, pull out the dip stick and check the level it should cover the cross hairs completely, not be within the zone like the instruction manual states. Be sure you add a little transmission fluid at a time. Once you add the fluid it will cover the dipstick appearing to be more, wait about 20 to 30 secs to let the transmission you added which is coating the dipstick to see the true reading.
