How do you fix a Honda speedometer that is not working?

The problem is more than likely your VSS( Vehicle Speed Sensor) located under your hood to the left of your intake. On Honda Accord, it is on top of the tranny, under the thermostat housing. It is a three wire sensor. If the VSS has failed, your check engine light will most likely be on.

There isn't a vehicle speed signal wire on a 2007 Sebring. The transmission computer uses its input and output sensors to factor vehicle speed. It then transmits that message over the communication wires of the vehicle.

Why would your 98 Honda Civic speedometer just stop working?

Vss (Vehicle Speed sensor) is bad. Easy to change on a 1998 honda civic. It's right on top of the tranny it cost about 90-100 bucks, but an easy fix. be sure to grease before installing. Tools you will need would be a socket wrench with an exrtension disconnect the wire from the top of the vss and tke out the bolt and gentley pull out. Vss (Vehicle Speed sensor) is bad. Where is the location of vss on 1997 Honda Odyssey?

It depends if you have the 4 or 6 cylinder. I have the 1996 4 cylinder (same setup). The car manual and downloadable PDFs incorrectly list the VSS as being on the right rear of the transmission. It's hard to describe the exact location but its in a bad spot. I'm trying to change mine right now. If you look underneath you hood, stare at your distributor. approximately a foot down and to the back of your engine compartment buried under all the "stuff" is your VSS bolted to the tranny. If you remove your airintake "hose"/"manifold" and you shine a flashlight in the above-mentioned area you will see the 3-wire connector sticking up from the VSS. I think it's orange-yellow-black. Good Luck!!
