In 1999-2000, Mazda designed 2 exhaust versions.
The most common version is the Federal-spec Miata. This exhaust system has the typical, single catalytic converter with an O2 sensor before and after it.
The California-spec Miata had a precatalytic converter directly installed on the exhaust manifold/header, as well as the standard catalytic converter running the length of the engine.
On the 99 Olds Intrigue, the camshaft sensor is located on the rear of the engine. It is just above the starter.
I have a 99 ranger 4x4 you might be surprised that you dont have a vss ! Instead look on your rear axel . its your abs sensor, or also called, rear speed sensor!
Driver side, after converter.
Use a screwdriver. Liscence plates are usually attached with screws.
You have to remove the starter and the sensor is behind there in the rear of the engine block.
temp sensor on the 99 miata is on the back of the cylinder head in a housing. it's easy to see and get at with the coilpack removed. also wanted to correct an earlier answer on 90-93 miata temp switch, which is in basically the same place. the switch on the top of the thermostat housing front of engine is for the cooling fan.
The speedometer signal coomes from the ABS computer via the rear axle speed sensor. That is the sensor on the top of the rear axle.
Trouble code P0705 means:Transmission range sensor circuit malfunction (PRNDL input)
It is in the top of the rear axle.
The speed sensor on a 99 Ranger 2.5 liter 2WD with an automatic transmission is in the rear differential. It is included with the ABS sensor in one unit.
The abs sensor on top of the rear axle is used for vehicle speed.
i had the same problem with my 99 and it was in the rear end
