If you are talking about the coolant temperature switch that turns the fan on when the coolant reaches the right temperature, then mine it is located in the bottom of the radiator directly under the fan.
The coolant fan switch is located close to the thermostat.
The coolant fan switch on a 1998 Contour is located at the front of the engine, near the radiator. It controls the speed and operation of the cooling fan based on the actual engine temperature.
On the back of the engine block.
at or near the thermostat housing
Where is coolant fan switch located on 1998 chevy Malibu with 3 .1
The fan relay will be located in the PDB box in the engine compartment. The relay is controlled by the coolant temp sensor and the computer. Hope this helps.
On my 91 RS 305, the coolant fan sensor is located next to the thermostat cover on the top-front of the intake manifold. If your fan is not coming on, it my be a bad coolant fan switch. The coolant fan switch is screwed into the block above the starter. It provides a conditional ground to the fan once the temperature reaches 225F. I replaced my coolant fan switch 3 times and my fan still wouldn't come on so I finally gave up and permenantly grounded the wire for the fan switch. So for the last 3 years, my fan runs continuously while the ignition switch is on. I also replaced the fan motor with one with a life-time gaurantee for $25.AnswerWrong, the coolant FAN sensor is on the right side of the engine (if you are standing in front of the car facing it) under the exhaust manifold, the coolant sensor next to the thermostat only controls the temperature gauge in the car. =) That might explain why you replaced it 3 times and it never worked =)
Check your radiator fan switch and your fan switch coolant sensor .
The coolant fan is triggered by a temperature sensitive switch. when coolant reaches a certain temp it turns the fan on. When the coolant drops below that temp it shuts off the fan. The ignition switch plays no part in the operation of the cooling fan.
The fan switch is the same as the coolant temp. sensor. It is located next to the thermostat "goose neck". Follow the radiatoer hose on the Right , standing in front of the vehicle.
what "fan" switch? there are 2 fans-radiator fan (electric) and interior "heater" fan. ***the interior fan switch is on the dashboard, just above the radio. it is a "bar-grasp" switch with white dots above the switch. the rad. fan switch is controlled by the ecm thru. the coolant temp. sensor. addendum: ***is for a '95 galant. your int. heater switch will, more than likely, be different
