The ambient air temp sensor on a 2004 Dodge Neon is located at the front of the car, year the headlights. It receives fresh air rather than heated air from the engine for the most accurate readings.
It is in the engine cover, which also contains the air filter.
It is right passed the air box.
Usually ambient sensors are located in front of the radiator.
Near the air filter housing in the engine air tube, there are two sensors the closer to the air filter is the mass air flow sensor the next is the intake temp sensor.Sorry I just looked at mine and the mass air flow sensor and intake air temp sensor are one unit on these models right next to the air filter housing.
intake air temp sensor
Didn't have an air temp sensor in 92. Came out in 93.
exterior air temp sensor is in L.h mirror. it pops out of a little hole in the bottom.
the intake air temp sensor for an 07 Silverado is built into the MAF sensor. The MAF is located on the air intake hose.
Raise the hood, find the air cleaner, follow it to the throttle body. Somewhere in this plumbing there will be the air temp sensor.
The air temp sensor measures the temp of the incoming air. cold air carries more oxygen while hot air carries less. so according to the temp from the temp sensor the cars computer can accurately adjust the the amount of fuel to be mixed with the air into the engine. Note: there are other sensors that the computer uses to get the right air/fuel mixture.
