Open the drain screw at the bottom of the gearbox hydraulic fluid is discharged.
On a 1998 Honda Civic there is a transmission drain bolt located on the bottom of the housing. Loosen the bolt and drain all of the old fluid. Using Honda ATF fluid top off the transmission.

Replace the transmission fluid from Honda Dealer.. simply drain from drain pitcock and refill. The damage may be to much at this point pending how many miles you have.
